The 40 Year Old Virgin is a 2005 American romantic comedy starring Steve Carell, Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd. There's no need to introduce the film because everybody had seen it already. It's one of those films that everyone has seen more than once. The film follows 40-year old Andy Stitzer (Carell), who lives with his parents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he works as a salesman for Pizza Hut. He meets 29-year old single mother, Amy Shumer (Heigl), at a local bar. Although he is not attracted to her or feels that she is out of his league, he decides to embark on the unlikely courtship. His romantic misadventures are interspersed with his work life, which involves dealing with one irate customer after another after he accidentally sells a toy monkey to an adult customer who thought it was intended for a 3-year old boy. Andy's sister, Donna (Heigl), has become popular on social media website MySpace and Andy thinks she can use MySpace's popular "Like" button. He meets with her for pizza at her local high school (where he is not known) and she convinces him to help her create an account, which gets thousands of fans. He also meets Randi (Rudd), who works at the local botox clinic. He is rejected by Amy when he tells her that he has a significant other, but she assures him that it's not a deal-breaker. Andy tries to flirt with women by taking them on dates, but always ends up hearing "It's like you're 40 years old" or "I'm married." Amy breaks things off with him after their first date because she thinks she cannot date an older man. After a confrontation with Donna about his inability to commit, Andy tries to maintain a relationship with both women. However, his plan falls apart when Amy realizes that he hasn't been seeing Randi and he breaks things off with Randi by telling her that they are going out of town on business together. When his roommate, David (Rogen), is too busy to go with him to the opera, Andy gives away the tickets and discovers that Amy has become a diva since receiving attention from MySpace.
